If you're a DISH TV ctomer and you can't seem to get reception of Channel 9, KCRG, it's not your receiver that's at fault. At noon Tuesday DISH TV removed KCRG-TV from its channel lineup due to a dispute over how much money DISH should pay KCRG for carrying the channel.
A news release from DISH TV claims Cedar Rapids Television Co., owner of KCRG-TV9, is asking for fees that are more than six times higher than what DISH pays other channels. A news release from KCRG-TV says only that the TV station had continued to allow DISH to carry the channel, even though the carriage agreement with DISH expired November 30th, but ultimately "we have reached an impasse."
KCRG-TV ponts out that its signal is still available from local cable television systems, from DIRECTV, and for free, over the air.
