Bradish Scholarship recipient named

Decorah High School has named James Ostlie as the recipient of the Norman C. Bradish Scholarship for the 2012-13 school year.

Norman Bradish created a college scholarship to go to a male graduate of Decorah High School who possesses high academic ability and curiosity, is liked by peers and adults, and displays high standards of character. The recipient must agree to attend a college outside the state of Iowa, and it must be a non-religious institution. Also, the student remain unmarried until finishing his studies.
 
Ostlie has not finalized his plans for college, but he is interested in in the medical profession, and possibly attending the University of Minnesota..

James has been active in Speech and Drama, National Honor Society, Marketing Club, Concert Choir and athletics. He was named to the All-State Chorus three times. He was name a First Team All-State Football Player this fall.  He also earned honors in Basketball and Baseball. He has taken challenging coursework at Decorah High School including several AP courses and post-secondary enrollment classes. 

James is the son of Paul and Lori Ostlie.
