More Highway 52 repaving is in the works--but not until 2015

Survey crews from WHKS Engineering have spent several weeks in Decorah on the segment of U.S. Highway 52 just north of State Highway 9.

But that doesn't mean a project to repave that portion of the highway is in the immediate future.

DOT spokesperson Pete Hempstad of the Mason City office says the project is listed on the state's five year highway project plan--but it currently is scheduled for 2015.  Hempstad says the project probably will be paid for with local district funds.  He says the survey crews were doing the work as part of the process of "future rehabilitation" of the highway
