This year's St. Benedict School fund drive has started.
Proceeds from the fund drive will be used to bridge the gap between the tuition parents pay and the actual cost of educating students at the school.
First and foremost, funds from the Annual Fund Drive are used for tuition assistance for families who might otherwise be unable to send a child to St. Benedict School. Last year the school was able to provide assistance for 26 students.
Secondly, funds are used for academic advancement, providing for learning opportunities that might otherwise be unaffordable, such as off campus learning experiences, new hands-on science curriculum, iPads for the classroom, Scholastic Reading Counts, day-long retreats, and other technological updates.
Finally, the Annual Fund Drive allows for special building projects, including classroom carpet replacement, locker installation, and other general operating expenses in order to keep tuition costs low.
Donations to the Annual Fund Drive can be made to St. Benedict School and sent to 402 Rural Avenue, Decorah, Iowa 52101. All donations are tax deductible.
