Short Street accident causes $4,000 in damages

When traffic slowed quickly on Short Street due to road maintenance crews painting lines on the roadway Friday afternoon, a Decorah man was unable to stop and struck the rear of a car ahead of him.  28-year-old Chase Riehle of Decorah suffered $4,000 in damages to his car, while 40-year-old Lionel Dayton of Decorah's car escaped undamaged.  Riehle was not ticketed.
