Breitbach appears to be winner in Senate District 28

It would appear that Republican Michael Breitbach will represent Northeast Iowa in the State Senate.
 
Allamakee, Clayton, Fayette and Winneshiek counties have completed their recounts of votes cast in the State Senate District 28 race between Breitbach and Democrat John Beard of Decorah.
 
The latest results give Beard a net of 17 more votes in Allamakee County. However, no net change was reported in Clayton County and Beard had a net change of one vote in both Fayette and Winneshiek counties.  If the recount totals are certified next week by the Iowa Secretary of State's Office in Des Moines, it would mean Breitbach got 14,868 votes, while Beard received 14,851—just 17 votes less.
