Winneshiek County Historical Society starting a fund drive to mark its 50th anniversary

The Winneshiek County Historical Society will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2013.  To mark this milestone the organization is starting a "$50 for 50" fundraising campaign. 

The drive has the goal of funding a $10,000 Winneshiek County Historical Society Endowment with the Winneshiek County Community Foundation.   An endowment provides an annual income which is generated by the interest calculated on the amount in the endowment fund.   This endowment will ensure the future stability of the Historical Society.

Members of the Historical Society Board of Directors have kicked off the fund drive by making their personal $50 contributions to the fund.
