Two Decorah HS students selected soloists for All-State Chorus

Two Decorah High School students have been selected as All State Soloists.

Hannah Leeper was one of four sopranos selected to solo on Mozart's "Veni Sante Spiritus" and Nick Vande Krol was one of four men selected to solo on Guillaume's "Dominus Vobiscum."  The two were soloists at a concert by the 602-member All State Chorus on Saturday at Hilton Coliseum on the Iowa State University Campus in Ames.

The two students in late October submitted audition recordings to state officials. On November 7th they were notified that they were semi-finalists and would audition for All State Chorus conductor University of Michigan's Jerry Blackstone.

The All State Festival Concert featuring all of the Decorah High School musicians will air on Iowa Public TV at 7:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day and at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.
