Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines awards $15,000 grant to Farmers & Merchants Savings Bank to help home buyers

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines wants to help Northeast Iowa residents buy homes.  The agency's Rural Home Ownership Fund has awarded a $15,000 grant to Farmers & Merchants Savings Bank in Decorah and Waukon to help people buy homes.  The money will go to qualified individuals and families to help pay down payments, closing costs and rehabilitation costs.

Farmers & Merchants Savings Bank says it will distribute awards of up to $1,500 to each eligible home buyer.  Contact the bank at its offices in either Decorah or Waukon for further program details.
