A series of quilts by Decorah artist Rebecca Kamm will go on display Tuesday in the Kristin Wigley-Fleming Gallery in the Luther College Center for the Arts. A gallery reception for Kamm will be held at 4:30 p.m. next Tuesday, November 27th. The show, titled "Interpretations," and the reception are open to the public with no charge for admission.
The quilts in the exhibit celebrate master artworks by translating them into a different medium. "These quilts are not copies of paintings, but were produced to draw viewers into works of art to see them in new ways," said Kamm.
Kamm graduated from Wartburg College with a bachelor's degree in English/education and received masters and doctoral degrees in education from the University of Northern Iowa. She is a Fulbright Scholar and a National Endowment for the Humanities participant. In 1996 she received a Wartburg College Alumni Citation.
