An arraignment has been scheduled for 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 20th for 45-year-old Jay Jermier of Decorah, who faces one count of vehicular homicide--a Class B felony.
An arrest warrant for Jermier claimed that he had a blood alcohol reading above the legal limit when his motorcycle went out of control on Highway 52 just north of Calmar on September 28th. A passenger on Jermier's motorcycle, 44-year-old Trish Taylor of Calmar, was killed in the crash.
Bond in Jermier's case has been set at $25,000. A cash bond was posted for Jermier, who is out of jail, pending a court trial ot 9:00 a.m. January 9th.
