Students at Decorah Middle School and Carrie Lee Elementary School had an opportunity to see first hand how the election process works by holding the mock presidential election on Tuesday.
Eighth grade students were in charge of the election, including creating posters for other students to see where each candidate stood on key issues. The 8th graders also showed other students how to vote, checked them into the polls and tallied the final results.
A total of 442 students and teachers voted on Tuesday, with President Obama receiving 241 votes and Mitt Romney receiving 192 votes.
