Could Main Street be repaved in stages?

Repaving East Main Street is one of the road projects listed on the City of Decorah's latest 5-year major projects plan.  But because the city used a good share of its local option sales tax receipts to pay for the Short Street project, any paving of East Main Street probably would be done over more than one year.

Lindsay Erdman of Erdman Engineering says "East Main Street is a candidate for a phased approach to reconstruction block by block within the size limits of the LOST funding available."

Tentative plans have the city repaving two blocks of East Main Street in 2016, during the city's 2017 fiscal year.  Another two blocks could be repaved in 2017 (fiscal '18).

Plans for the project are still tentative, but listing the project on the city's 5-year road plan is usually a significant step in making the project happen.
