State Senate race between Merlin Bartz and Mary Jo Wilhelm is a squeaker

State Senator Mary Jo Wilhelm of Cresco has won re-election to the state legislature--maybe.

With nearly 31,000 votes cast, Wilhelm holds a 160 vote lead over fellow incumbent State Senator Merlin Bartz.  The unofficial results show Wilhelm with 15,511 votes and Bartz with 15,391.  But there are still absentee ballots that may come in during the next few days and there is the possibility of a recount request.

But for now, if the totals hold up, Wilhelm would be heading back to Des Moines.
