UPDATE #3 (10:35PM): Three new members of the county board are elected

10 out of 11 precincts in Winneshiek County have now had their ballots counted.  Only the Ridgeway area has not brought in ballots so far.

In completed county board races, in District #1 Republican Dennis Karlsbroten defeated incumbent Democrat Bill Ibanez, 1,069 to 1,028.  In District #2, Republican Floyd Ashacher defeated Democrat Rachel Vagts 1,175 to 1,072, with John Franzen getting 165 votes.  In District #3, longtime County Board Chairman Les Askelson lost to Democrat Dean Thompson 936 to 791.  In District #4, Incumbent Republican John Logsdon defeated Democrat Clark Goltz 1,152 to 913.  Results are not complete yet in District #5, where Republican Lonnie Pierce and Democrat Mark Kuhn are squaring off.

In the race for Winneshiek Medical Center Board of Trustees, with 10 of 11 precincts reporting, the two leaders are Steve Hildebrand with 4,277 votes and Karl Jacobsen with 3,581 votes.  Dave Kratz is third with 2,680 votes, with Jim Tweedy fourth with 2,432 votes.
