UPDATE #1 (9:06PM): Polls have closed in Winneshiek County

Polls have closed in Winneshiek County amid signs of a heavy voter turnout.

Absentee ballots have been counted since 8:00 a.m. this morning. The total of absentee ballots should be somewhere around 6,000.

There are 11 voting precincts. Returns should come in first from the absentee ballots, then from City of Decorah precincts and finally from the rural precincts.
