2011 Decorah High School graduate Danielle Fulsaas, a former member of the Decorah FFA, has received the prestigious American FFA Degree.

The American FFA Degree is awarded to FFA members who have demonstrated the highest level of commitment to FFA and made significant accomplishments in their Supervised Agricultural Experiences.  Less than half of one percent of all FFA members earn the degree, making it one of the organization's highest honors.

Danielle is the 12th member in the history of the Decorah FFA, to receive the American Degree.  She is currently attending Stephen's College in Columbia, Missouri.  Her parents are Jerome and Jannelle Fulsaas of Decorah.

Danielle's recognition highlighted the Decorah FFA's recent trip to the national FFA convention.  16 members of the Decorah FFA chapter attended the 85th National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana: Micayla Christopher, Kelsey Hovden, Tyler Lundtvedt, Miranda Schnitzler, Dalton Anderson, Adam Knight, Daiton Tietz, Bailey Vickerman, Rachel Masek, Madison McCabe, Garret Hemesath, Cole Horgen, Kenzie Hovden, Daria Lundtvedt, Ashley Schwartzhoff and Shelby White along with FFA advisor Rick Twedt and student teacher Leah Henkes.

Over 50,000 FFA members attended this convention from across the U.S.
They heard from Olympic Gold Medalist Scott Hamilton and NBA player Walter Bond, participated in packaging food packs for the FFA Rally to Fight Hunger and attended a concert at Lucas Oil Stadium featuring The Band Perry.
