Ask Mr. Answer Person: "Are cars allowed on the Trout Run Trail?"

Adam e-mails: "Dear Mr. Answer Person, I was just wandering if the new (Trout Run) trail was now open for local traffic?"

Mr. Answer Person says: "Wow!  Our readers are everywhere!  Adam, the picture you took was at exactly the time that representatives from the Vision Iowa/CAT Board were in Decorah to see what their grant money has produced.

No, cars are NOT allowed on Trout Run Trail! But the Vision Iowa Board gave $1.6 million towards the Trout Run Trail, so they probably deserve a tour of the trail, including the bridge.

City Administrator Chad Bird also notes, "There are many signs posted along various areas of the trail noting that unauthorized motor vehicles are not allowed. We also have installed or are installing barriers where appropriate to stop this type of behavior."
