The Washington Prairie Norwegian Methodist Cemetery is looking better these days, thanks to the volunteer efforts of members of Boy Scout Troop 66. The scouts did tree trimming, fence clearing and yard work to get the cemetery ready for winter. They also worked on the Bruvold Farm Pioneer Cemetery.
The scouts cleared out scrub plants and an old metal gutter from a fence row. The cemetery was mowed and picked up of twigs and branches.
The group visited the Bruvold Farm Pioneer Cemetery and found it in good shape with fence and markers set up. However the weeds were tall and needed pulling. The weeds promptly pulled and the stones cleared for view.
Because of the project, the scouts will all be eligible for the BSA Historic Trails Award. It is not a required badge, but a special, voluntary award.
