A Satellite Absentee Voting station set up at Luther College on Wednesday drew a crowd.
439 ballots were cast during the seven hours the station was open. Voters included students, faculty and staff of Luther College and other community members who live in the area of the college.
"I was happy with the turnout and extremely impressed with the performance of the election officials, said Winneshiek County Auditor Ben Steines.
There were 6 different ballot styles available, including Decorah Wards 1, 4, and 5; the part of Decorah Township in Supervisor districts 2 and 3; and Canoe Township.
The Auditor's Office is encouraging voters to take advantage of the in-office voting at the Auditor's Office offered from now through November 5th if they were not able to take advantage of Wednesday's satellite absentee voting station.
