Decorah area motorists should soon see relief in gas prices

The price of a gallon of gasoline is falling in Decorah and throughout the Midwest.  Gas stations in Decorah are now charging $3.54 a gallon--and experts expect that price to continue to fall.

The average price of a gallon of gas in Iowa has dropped 13 cents in the last week, according to the AAA.   While the price of gas has dropped in most states in the country, the lower prices are most pronounced in the Midwest.

The AAA says it expects the declines to continue in the next couple of weeks, for a number of reasons, including a 16-cent drop late last week in the wholesale market that hasn't yet been passed on to consumers.
