Community members are invited to sing Bach cantata

The First Lutheran Church Chancel Choir is inviting community members to join them starting Wednesday in rehearsing for a performance of a Bach cantata.

The choir will be singing J. S. Bach's cantata BWV 140, "Wachet auf ruft uns die Stimme," on Sunday, December 9th at a 10:00 a.m. service and also on Wednesday, December 12 at 7:00 p.m. for an Advent Vespers service. 

Rehearsals for the cantata will be held from 7:40 p.m. until 8:10 p.m. Wednesdays in the church's Fireside Room. 

An orchestra comprised of Luther College faculty and students will accompany the choir in the performance of the cantata.  Soloists will be Rachel Ware, soprano, Andrew Whitfield, baritone, Heather Armstrong, oboe, and Tarn Travers, violin.
