UPDATE: South Winneshiek schools locked down because of gunshot

A lockdown has been put into effect at South Winneshiek schools in Calmar and Ossian.

School officials say someone in Ossian fired a gun outside the elementary and middle school.  As a result, all school buildings in Ossian and Calmar are under a precautionary lock-down.

School officials say all the kids inside the buildings are safe.
