Thieves in San Antonio, Texas broke into vans being used by the Central College volleyball team over the weekend, swiping the players' equipment and personal belongings.

As a result, the Luther vs. Central volleyballmatch that was scheduled to take place on Tuesday will now take placeon Monday, October 22nd at 7:00 p.m. in Decorah.

The volleyball squad was inside a restaurant late Friday evening when thieves broke into the locked vehicles and picked them clean. Most of the players lost cash, credit cards and personal IDs as well as uniforms and equipment. Even ankle braces, a player's knee brace and an insulin pump were stolen.

The theft even affected the team's ability to fly back home to Iowa, since many photo IDs were stolen.

As soon as Central is able to replace shoes, uniforms and equipment it will play its match against Luther, but it's not yet certain that everything can be replaced by Wednesday night.  Central athletics department staff members have already been in contact with equipment suppliers.
