Humane Society 5k postponed until Saturday

The weekend's rain washed out the planned 5k held by the Humane Society for Northeast Iowa.

The event has now been rescheduled for this Saturday, October 20th.  Saturday's events will include the eighth annual dog walk and a first annual human 5K.

Registration is $20 for the 5K. It will begin at 8:00 a.m. at the Trout Hatchery.  The race itself begins at 9:00 a.m.

Registration for the dog walk is $15 for the first dog and $5 for each additional dog. Registration for the dog walk begins at 9:00 a.m. The dog walk begins at 10 a.m.

After the walk, over 25 door prizes will be given away, as well as special prizes for the highest pledge earners.

There will be a pet adoption event with many foster animals on site, vendors, refreshments and a bake sale in conjunction with the dog walk and human 5K.

All proceeds go to support the dogs and cats in HSNEI's foster care program.
