September weather in Decorah was fairly typical

Decorah weather observer Richard Bernatz says September weather in Decorah was a little dry, although otherwise fairly typical.

Bernatz says temperatures averaged 62.0 degrees--just 0.1 degree warmer than average.  But September 2012 was cooler than 59 Septembers, the same as another and warmer than 57 Septembers.

2.94 inches of rain fell during September, according to Bernatz.  That's 0.68 inches less than the average of 3.62 inches.  Compared with September 2012, 66 Septembers were wetter, two were the same and 50 Septembers were drier.  For the past 12 months, Decorah still has a precipitation deficit of 6.21 inches.
