County supervisors accept bridge bid, discuss other bridge projects

Winneshiek County has a number of bridges that need repair or replacement.  On Monday supervisors took steps to solve a few of those problems.

The county board accepted a bid of $91,156 from Minnowa Construction for a new bridge on Rogers Creek Road, just north of Fort Atkinson.

Bids will be let in November on a bridge replacement project on County W-42 and in December on a bridge on Trout Run Road.

Finally, county supervisors continued to discuss two bridges on 288th Avenue.  At this point, the northern of the two bridges probably will be replaced instead of the southern one.  The project is predicted to cost around $288,000, but federal funds will pay for 80 percent of the costs.
