The Seventh Biennial Benefit Auction for Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum will be held Friday, October 19th at the Hotel Winneshiek.  But the bidding on 50 auction items has already begun.

The 50 pieces of folk art can be seen by visiting www.vesterheim.org.  If you're interested in bidding on any of the items, you can submit a bid by email, fax, or phone.  The bidding ends with silent and live auctions on October 19th.  The final silent bidding will begin at 7:00 p.m. and the live auction will start at 8:00 p.m. Admission to the auction is free.

The folk-art pieces for auction include traditional Norwegian rosemaling, woodworking, fiber arts, and knifemaking. The contributing artists are Vesterheim Gold Medalists, award winners, or instructors.

Proceeds from this year's benefit auction will support the Folk-art Education Program at Vesterheim.

The public is also invited to attend a 5:30 p.m. dinner preceding the auction.  The dinner costs $50 per person.  Reservations can be made by calling the museum at (563) 382-9681 before October 12th.
