Performances will take place this week of "Banned Books Theater"

A cast of eight teenage actors has been working with director Kristen Underwood for the past month, studying the history of banned and challenged books in the United States, First Amendment rights, and censorship issues. 

Starting Tuesday, the group will be presenting free performances of "Banned Books Theater."  The first performance will be at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday at Water Street Park.  Other performances will be held at noon Wednesday at Bentdahl Commons at Luther College; at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at Winneshiek Farmers Market; and at 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the Decorah Public Library.

The cast for this 15-minute original play is comprised of Gabriela Deifelt-Streese, Emily Gomersall, Rebecka Green, Clara Kittleson, Aidan Deen Lester, Anna Spencer Berg, Aidan Spencer Berg and Anders Wahlberg.
