In the wake of a number of reader comments about the condition of Town Line Road during this summer's construction, Keith Bruening from Bruening Rock Products has sent this e-mail:
"We did have a water truck every day haul on this road. We did this for safety reasons. The truck hauled ALL day. I would guess we hauled an average of 5 loads a day!! The trouble is, it's water, so it takes a lot to keep the dust down.
We hauled approximately 13,000 tons of material to Highway 52. It took about 5-6 days, so there would have been pretty busy truck traffic every day. The material was used for the shoulders, and it came out of our Hovey Quarry.
This road would be a great place for macadam road construction. It's an economical way to control the dust, but also gets the road ready for paving!"
