Culver's of Decorah is helping Luther College football player Chris Norton raise money Thursday for his new foundation, SCI CAN, which is buying recumbent bicycles for therapy use.
The founders of the entire Culver's chain, Craig and Lea Culver, flew in to Decorah on Thursday to meet Norton and to donate to SCI CAN. In 1984 Craig and Lea Culver, along with Craig's parents, George and Ruth, opened the very first Culver's in the family's hometown of Sauk City, Wisconsin.
Until 10:00 Thursday night, 10 percent of all sales at Culver's of Decorah will be given to SCI CAN. In addition, Norton will be at Culver's for much of the day, along with the recumbent bicycle he uses for his own therapy.
On Sunday, Norton has scheduled the Decorah Ride to raise more money for SCI CAN and to publicize the work of the foundation.
