Chuck Gipp: Bipartisan effort led to Vision Iowa program

Iowa DNR Executive Director Chuck Gipp of Decorah on Sunday praised the Trout Run Trail as an example of what can be done through a bipartisan effort.

Gipp told an audience at Decorah High School that legislators from both parties wanted to do something to keep young people living in Iowa.  The Vision Iowa program was designed to do just that by supporting projects aimed at attracting ypoung people.

Gipp predicted the Trout Run Trail "will have a great economic impact," including producing more sales tax collections because of an increase in tourism.  He dubbed the trail "a worthy investment" by the State of Iowa.
