Members of the Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce's Ag Committee are getting ready to travel SW Winneshiek County distributing bags filled with provisions donated by local businesses in an effort to make sure local farmers have a safe harvest.
The coolers include everything from pop/water to first-aid kits, welding beanies to homemade cookies and much more. They will be distributed on Wednesday--weather permitting.
The Stay Safe "Take a Break" project began in 2004 in an effort to help fight farmer fatigue and keep farm workers safe in Winneshiek County during the fall harvest season.
