Trout Run Trail dedication group seeking art works

Posted: Tue, Sep 18, 2012 4:22 PM

As part of the Trout Run Trail Grand Opening ceremony this weekend, organizers are looking for professional or amateur artists to display their Trout Run Trail-specific artwork at the Dedication & Donor Recognition Ceremony at the Decorah High School Auditorium at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Artwork may include photography (family outings, father-son fishing trips along trail, nature shots etc.), paintings, drawings, videos or any form of art that can easily be set up and taken down within a timely manner before and after the 1-hour public program.

"Our committee has been so impressed with photos and other creative works that have been brought to our attention thus far," said Brenda Balk of the event committee. "We're providing this showcase opportunity because we'd love to see what other creations are out there. Plus we think our guests would really enjoy the exhibit."

Those interested should contact Brenda Balk by calling (563) 382-2023, e-mailing brenda@visitdecorah.com or stopping in to the Visitor's Center at 507 W. Water Street in Decorah by the end of the day Friday.  Artwork must be tasteful and requires prior approval from event committee.
