Decorah area genealogy enthusiasts are being invited to a workshop

A genealogical workshop will be held Saturday, September 29th, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Carnegie-Stout Library in Dubuque.  The workshop is free.  All interested Decorah area residents are invited to attend.  No registration is required, but if you plan to attend, please call Wendy at (563) -382-9024 or e-mail her at wendynovak@gmail.com

The workshop is open to anyone interested in working on family lines and exploring their family tree.  There will be a morning session. "Basics of Genealogy," presented by state DAR chairs Jeanette Shannon and Marlys Ankrum, state chairmen.  Following this, DAR members will be available to provide individual assistance where needed.  

Participants should bring  copies of any useful data about your family, such as birth, marriage and death certificates, Bible records, baptismal certificates, service records, land probate, and will records, census records and obituaries.  There will be access to library computers.
