Luther College President Richard Torgerson has named Rob Larson to the position of vice president for communications and marketing. Since the 2008-09 academic year, Larson has served as executive director of communications and marketing. Prior to that, Larson was an associate professor of management, teaching at Luther since 2003.
As executive director of communications and marketing, Larson created the social media division as well as redefined the department of Public Information to Campus News and Visual Media. "The changes Rob has made and continues to make are enabling the college to develop areas of marketing and communication that were previously underutilized," said Torgerson. "As social media continues to evolve, Rob will continue to push Luther to be at the head of that progression."
Larson is responsible for campus news, college publications, music tours, social media, sports information, visual media, web content, and other marketing and public relations functions. He will continue to report to the president and serve on the President's Cabinet, the college's leadership team.
