The Short Street Project is battling weeds and slow-growing grass seed

It's been a hot and dry summer, of course.  That means it's been difficult to grow new grass along the Short Street Project.

There has been grass seed sown along several blocks of the street, but it has been overtaken by weeds.

City Manager Chad Bird says he has talked with the contractor for the project, who has agreed to water the areas several times this fall.  In the meantime, neighboring property owners have been given permission to mow down the weeds on the city boulevard property.
