The Decorah Community School Board continued its discussion of the air conditioning noise from Carrie Lee School. Last month neighbors brought the concern to the Board.
Superintendent Mike Haluska had met with representatives from StuXture Architects for input on the situation. They suggested hanging some plywood on the fencing as a first step to see if that alleviated any of the problem. Then if that worked, a more permanent sound absorbing material could be used. They said that a sound engineer should be contacted if the plywood attempt failed. Insurance company representatives may be able to test regarding the noise and the district hopes that they are available to do a scientific pre and post test for the plywood installations.
Superintendent Haluska will report back at the October meeting.
