County officials satisfied with fuel bids, propane bids

Winneshiek County supervisors have approved hiring Hovden Oil to deliver fuel to the county and Waukon Feed Ranch to deliver propane gas.

Three bids on fuel delivery were within one percent of one another.  Supervisors selected Hovden Oil, the county's current supplier, because County Engineer Lee Bjerke said the county "has never had any problems" with deliveries from Hovden.  It is expected to cost the county just under $11,000 in delivery charges this winter.

Meanwhile, Waukon Feed Ranch's bid of $1.12/gallon in delivery costs was the lowest of four bids submitted.
