Decorah resident asks for copies of WMC's Management Services Agreement and Physicians Services Agreement with Mayo Clinic Hleath Systems

What's in the two contracts that Winneshiek Medical Center has with Mayo Clinic Health Systems?  The public may soon be getting an answer to that question--thanks to a letter by Decorah resident Ed Brooks.

Brooks has delivered a letter to WMC Board President Ben Wyatt requesting, "in accordance with Public Records Law Iowa Code Chapter 22," a copy of the contracts Winneshiek Medical Center has that govern the Mayo Clinic Health Systems administrators who work at the hospital, as well as the separate contract that governs the Mayo Clinic Health Systems physicians who work at Decorah Clinic.

Meanwhile, new Chief Administrative Officer Gretchen Dahlen said during last week's hospital board meeting that the two documents, in her opinion, were covered by the Open Meetings and Public Records laws and would be released to the public as soon as Mayo Clinic Health Systems signed the contracts.  WMC Board members approved and signed the contracts late last week.
