Despite Decorah City Council's vote against a street closing, the Trout Run Trail community party will go on

The Decorah City Council voted against a request to close down the 400 block of West Water Street on Saturday, September 22nd, to allow for a community block party.  But that doesn't mean the party won't be held.

Organizers say they have modified their plans so the party still can be held from 3:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. on the 22nd.  The new plans call for many of the activities to be held at The Courtyard.  Admission to the Courtyard will come in exchange for a donation to the Trout Run Trail.  There will be food and drink specials and drawing for prizes.  Starting at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd, there will be live music by General B and the Wiz.

Organizers also are planning "adventure bike rides" on the Trout Run Trail.

The events are being sponsored by The Courtyard, Decorah Hatchery, Fancy Pants and Northwestern Mutual.  Proceeds from the evening will go towards supporting Trout Run Trail.
