Christmas cards will be collected for the troops again this year in Decorah

Posted: Sun, Sep 9, 2012 3:00 PM

Northeast Iowa RSVP will once again be conducting a drive to collect Christmas Cards for Iowa Soldiers In cooperation with the Iowa Bravest campaign,   Last year's campaign brought in 300 cards.

RSVP Director Kathy Barloon is encouraging everyone to take some time to make out a Christmas card for an Iowa soldier.  The card may include a message to the soldier and should be signed with your first name.  You can do multiple cards but do not put them in an individual envelope as all cards will be reviewed by volunteers before being sent on to the Iowa Bravest contact in Waterloo.

The soldiers especially enjoy homemade Christmas cards by both children and adults.  If you are having trouble finding Christmas cards in September, the RSVP office which is located at the Decorah Library will have some blank cards that you can use.

The cards may be dropped off at the Decorah Library or mailed to RSVP, 202 Winnebago, Decorah, Iowa  52101.  The cards should reach the RSVP office by October 2nd.

If you have questions, call the RSVP office at 563-382-3717 or toll free at 1-877-806-0623.
