Iowa Farm Bureau names State Representative Roger Thomas a

State Representative Roger Thomas of Elkader has been designated a "Friend of Agriculture" by the Iowa Farm Bureau Political Action Committee.

The grassroots effort to designate "Friends of Agriculture" is guided by Farm Bureaumembers.  It began in July when county committees evaluated candidates.  An unprecedented 98 County Farm Bureau Campaign 2012 Committees submitted candidate evaluations this year.  The nine-member PAC committee carefully reviews those evaluations, while also considering candidates positions on issues of importance to members, leadership on Farm Bureau priorities and past voting records.

"I know agricultureis the backbone of Iowa's economy and continuing the development of renewableenergy holds great promise for strengthening our ag economy and creatinggood-paying jobs in rural Iowa," said Thomas.
