It will now be up to the State Medical Examiner's Office to identify the driver of the second vehicle involved in Sunday afternoon's fatal head-on collission near Waukon.

The truck the person was driving burst into flames following the accident, with the driver trapped inside.  Authorities were not able to identify the victim, so the body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner's Lab, where experts will try to use dental records to determine the identify of the person.

Meanwhile, one of the four occupants of the other car--Patrick Egan Sr. of Waukon--is now listed in good condition at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse.  The three other occupants of the other car, all members of the Egan family, were all treated for injuries at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, then released.
