The Cresco Public Library will be holding a program about the Civilian Conservation Corps--a program that greatly benefited Phelps Park in Decorah, as well as the Yellow Forest in Allamakee County.
Michigan-based author Bill Jamerson will present a music and storytelling program at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 12th at the Cresco United Methodist Church, which is located next door to the library, and has a larger space available.
The hour-long program includes stories, video, excerpts from his novel, and performances of original songs about the Civilian Conservation Corps. Jamerson will share many stories he has picked up from former CCC workers he has met over the years, and will discuss some of their work projects in Iowa.
