You might not have heard much recently about the "Blue Zone" program, but that doesn't mean local volunteers still aren't working hard to win the designation for Decorah.
A group of volunteers is preparing for a site visit from the Blue Zones Project on September 13th. The site visit is the next step in a community-wide effort to make Decorah an Iowa Blue Zones.
The Blue Zones leadership team in partnership with the City of Decorah and the Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce submitted an application to be considered for the project to make Decorah a happier, healthier community.
Decorah was selected as one of ten smaller communities for a Blue Zone Site visit.
Organizers are looking for community volunteers willing to participate in one of the breakout sessions that will be held during the September 13th site visit. If you're interested, please contact Nikki Brevig at the Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce at (563) 382-3990.
