Decorah Library receives "Smart Investing" grant

The Decorah Public Library will receive $575 worth of library books and DVDs about investing as a result of being selected as one of 18 libraries in Iowa to participate in the "Smart investing @ your library"® program.

The grant will help to build the capacity of the Decorah Public Library to provide effective, unbiased investor education and financially-themed programming to the Decorah community.

Three different courses will be offered:  one for those who are first-time investors, one for those preparing for retirement and one for retirees.  Participating libraries  Classes will be held in the winter of 2013.

The program is being provided through a partnership with Iowa State University Extension and the Ames Public Library to provide these classes about financial literacy programming in Decorah.
