County board hires part-time rural waste site monitor

A rural Decorah man--Ron Emery--has been hired as a half-time Rural Waste Site Monitor by the Winneshiek County Board.

Supervisors previously had discussed whether the position was still needed, but decided that it made good sense.  County officials then began accepting applications for the position.  On Monday the county board approved hiring Emery, who will be paid $8.94 an hour to work 24 hours one week and 16 hours the next week at rural waste collection sites such as the one at Locust.
