NEW VIDEO: Decorah firefighters rescue dog from Palisades Park cliff

The Decorah Fire Department was called to Palisades Park around 11:00 Wednesday morning to respond to a report of a dog that had fallen over the cliff and was trapped on a ledge below the Palisades overlook.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a small dog approximately 20 feet below the overlook.  A raise lower rope system was set up and a firefighter was lowered to rescue the dog.   The firefighter and the dog were then raised back up to the lookout area.

The dog did not appear to be injured, and was reunited with its owners.
