City of Decorah finishes its testing of sewer lines

The City of Decorah Water Department not only didn't need three days for smoke testing of its sanitary sewer system--it completed the task by lunchtime on Monday.

Crews pumped a special non-toxic smoke into the sewers to reveal any breaks or defects in the sewer system and any places where storm water and other surface waters enter the city's sewer system.

Water Department officials say the test went smoothly.
